The Birth of a Company and a Sole Source Vender

Wild Mountain Fire & Forestry, Inc was created in June 2006. Their mission is to provide high quality, professional Fire and Fuels management personnel and equipment, as well as educated fuels management solutions to all those who work with and live within the Urban Interface areas of the west.

WMFF applies state-of-the-art scientific land management techniques, planning , documentation, fire protection planning and implementation planning as well as implementation of ecological restoration projects. While our focus is in the wildland urban interface (WUI), our procedures apply across the landscape.  Our staff has over 175 years of combined fire and fuel’s management experience in public agencies and rural fire departments.

Wild Mountain Fire & Forestry, Inc is a full service fire and fuels management firm specializing in high-end forestry services, specifically Fire and Fuels Management in the wildland urban interface.  As the population in the interface grows, policy and regulations become increasingly tighter and more specific in an attempt to regulate developers, and homeowners to create a survivable area around their homes and property.

Through time and climate change, wildfires are becoming increasingly larger in size, and the fire behavior more intense.

The potential that a wild fire will burn through a woodland or mountain community is greater now than ever before.  Wildfires have the potential to not only destroy home’s and property but to also take the lives of our families and firefighters working to do what they were trained to do: Protect life and property.

To help mitigate the potential threat to these communities, we have gathered a staff of experts and professionals in several fields to combine their knowledge, skills, and abilities to more effectively protect these communities. Our programs include education, training and any and all associated studies, assessments, planning, modeling, and mapping to help write appropriate policy and protection plans to allow a wider margin of safety and security to those that live within these communities.

Not only can we write and prepare all the planning, modeling, survey, and policy projects, but we can also implement all of the on-site project work from prescribed fire to cutting and chipping. Since fire will always be apart of the eco-system, our Fire Division has a group of highly trained professional firefighters, and reliable equipment that we utilize in tactical and support roles on large fire incidents.

Why Wild Mountain?

Wild Mountain Fire & Forestry, has a unique philosophy about the application of treatments to the landscape.  We feel it is vital while managing for Safety and wildfire protection, to also keep an eye towards the environment .  This includes making sure that the treatment is in line with proper ecological practices , managing for wildlife, stand health or other factors that
may be a concern to the landowner or ecology of the area in general.  Wild Mountain’s staff all come from strong fire management and ecology backgrounds,  many from federal and state land management agencies where others have strength in field research and application.  One thing remains constant we are a unique group and are striving hard to become a leader in this particular field.

We welcome the opportunity to set the bar high in service and integrity.  It is also very important to WMFF that as we work through the project phases that we incorporate stake holders as an integral part of the team.  WMFF has the flexibility to take on projects ranging from 1/4 acre to thousands of acres in size with the ability to create professional planning documents, evaluations, and assessments.  We have field crews available to physically implement projects on the ground.  With professional project management and a top rate safety program we can maintain a high level of risk management while bringing the projects in complete and on schedule.  Wild Mountain has a rapid response team that can deploy within hours throughout the nation and within days internationally before or during an incident to our private client group.
